Home Energy Winter Crisis Program

The Home Energy Assistance Winter Crisis Program helps income eligible Ohioans that are threatened with disconnection, have been disconnected or have less than a 25 percent supply of bulk fuel in their tank maintain their utility service.

Appointment Setting: Schedule an appointment by calling 614-252-2799 Option #4 or visiting our Online Scheduling System.

Next day appointments (10 am & 1 pm) are available first-come, first served by calling 614-252-2799 Option #4, customers must call after 10am to schedule a next day appointment.

Intake Process:  Customer will come in for an appointment, where we will collect the documentation.  Once documentation is collected, an IMPACT Representative will complete the application via phone interview and will provide the customer with next steps.

Documentation Needed:

  • Valid Driver’s License/Photo I.D.

  • Proof of Citizenship is required for ALL household members regardless of age:

(Please provide either/or)

  • Birth Certificate -Passport -Permanent Visa Card

  • Voters Registration Card -Social Security Card

  • Proof of household income for the past 30 days for everyone 18 years & older.

  • Current gas or electric bills.

Program Benefits: Furnace Repair up to $1500.

What Does Program Cover? Customers that are in disconnection/termination status, off or transfer of services; water bills.

What Program Can Not Cover? Customers that are not in disconnection/termination status, NSF checks paid to utility companies, unauthorized usage.

How to Apply: Customer can call 614-252-2799 Option #4 or visit our online scheduling system to make an appointments on a first come first served basis. Next day appointments will also be released after 10 AM Monday - Friday.  Once appointments are full, customers can also apply online at www.energyhelp.ohio.gov

Home Energy Assistance Summer Crisis Program

Program Description:  The Home Energy Assistance Summer Crisis Program provides a one-time benefit to eligible Ohioans with cooling assistance during the summer months. The program runs from July 1 to September 30.

Summer Crisis Program provides assistance with electric utility bills, central air conditioning repairs, and air conditioning unit and/or fan purchases. Households with a household member who is either 60 years of age and older, has been diagnosed with COVID-19, or has a certified medical condition, and households who have a disconnect notice, have been shut off, or are trying to establish new electric service may be eligible for assistance. 

Intake Process: Customer will come into the office where we will collect the documentation.  Once documentation is collected, an IMPACT Rep will complete the application via phone interview and will provide the customer with next steps.

Documentation Needed

  • Copies of your most recent utility bills

  • A list of all household members (include birth dates and Social Security numbers) and Proof of income for everyone in the household over 18 years old for the last 30 days for each member (12 months preferred)

  • Proof of citizenship or legal residency for all household members.

Program Benefits: Electric Bill Assistance (Regulated/Non-Regulated), Air Conditioners and/or fans, A/C Repair up to $1500.

What Program Can’t Cover? Gas or Water Bills
