Build Up Construction Trades
Build Up offers comprehensive job and construction skills training to income eligible adults 18 and up in Franklin County, Ohio, and includes a nationally recognized construction accreditation certificate (a $2,600 value) as well as opportunities to network with local employers or apply for apprenticeships in the construction field upon graduation.
With support from the City of Columbus, Empowered! creates pathways for young adults, with a focus on populations that have been historically underrepresented in the industry, including People of Color, Women and residents residing in Opportunity Neighborhoods.
This program is designed for young adults to explore careers in the clean energy sector and skilled trades. Designed as an immersive and engaging training program based on up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and expectations, the program utilizes guest speakers, visits to job sites/training facilities and experience from subject matter experts to expose participants to opportunities with upward mobility and livable wages within the clean energy and skilled trades industries. Participants can expect to earn several industry-recognized certifications and have access to employment opportunities, all while earning a weekly participation stipend! EMPOWERED!
Re-Entry Work Readiness Program
Five-week Work Readiness Program teaching critical skills designed to increase the likelihood of successful societal reintegration and confront significant barriers to self-sufficiency. Participant has the opportunity to receive $100 weekly stipend total at completion of program. (Up to $500 based on participation and attendance)
Momentum
Momentum is a three-week workforce development and training program. The program focuses on self-management and introduces a holistic approach to personal and professional development. Participants also receive work readiness training, barrier removal, and employer connection which increases competency and prepares them for the workplace.
