What is the IMPACT IT Program?
IMPACT IT Academy program is a great opportunity for eligible Franklin County residents seeking to obtain two (2) marketable designations that we help kickstart their career in the IT field. Program participants upon attending all sessions, completing all assignments, and successfully passing the CompTIA and CompTIA A+ exams, participants will receive the CompTIA and CompTIA A+ designation.

How long does it take to complete the training?
The IMPACT IT Training is approximately 16 weeks long. The CompTIA training is approximately 6 weeks long. The CompTIA A+ training is approximately 10 weeks long.
What certifications will I obtain after completing the training?
Participants that have successfully completed the program will obtain (2) designations: CompTIA and CompTIA A+.
How do I know if I qualify for this training?
Eligibility for all Empowerment Services programs is determined based on the individual’s household income. To determine eligibility, individuals must schedule an intake appointment by calling 614-453-1659.
Can I complete my intake appointment over the phone?
At this time, intake appointments are required to be done in person. Individuals are required to bring the following:
State-issued Driver’s license or I.D
Social Security Card (including those of any spouse or dependents)
30 days Proof of Income
I have been out of work for the last 30 days. Could I still join the program?
Yes, even if you haven’t had income in the last 30 days. Individuals would be required to complete a separate form and show how they have been surviving within the last 30 days.
What documentation is needed for the intake appointment?
State-issued Driver’s license or I.D
Social Security Card (including those of any spouse or dependents)

How do I sign up?
The first step towards signing up is to complete our Workforce Development Programs interest form linked HERE. This information will be sent to a Workforce Development Staff member to send you information regarding the next steps.

Are there any pre-requisites for the training?
Yes, all individuals are required to take our Connections Soft Skills training. Once you complete the interest form, details about the training will be provided at a later time.
Will I receive a stipend as I complete the training?
Yes, participants will receive a weekly $200.
What kind of jobs can I get with the CompTIA and CompTIA A+ certifications?
The two designations will offer a range of job opportunities from Help Desk Analyst to Low Volt Technician positions. More information will be provided during the pre-screening process and program orientation.
