What is AMP?

Achieve More and Prosper (AMP) is a career and work-readiness program for young adults that provides opportunities to explore their interests, get hands-on experience, and train for their dream career. Every young adult is matched with an AMP Coach and builds a customized plan for their future, while helping to overcome current challenges. AMP connects young people with services and assistance to help them gain the skills, employment or knowledge needed to accomplish their goals.

What counts as a documented barrier?

  • A young adult who is low-income

  • A young adult who has past or current involvement with the foster care system

  • A young adult who has past or current involvement with the justice system

  • A young adult who has not yet finished high school or dropped out

  • Being a young parent or being currently pregnant

  • Being an English language learner

  • Being currently homeless or a runaway

  • Having a documented physical, mental or emotional disability

  • An individual who is basic skills deficient

Can AMP help me get a job?

Yes! AMP helps young adults to explore their interests, build skills, earn industry recognized credentials and obtain employment. You can complete career exploration, participate in a paid work experience and work with an AMP staff on permanent job placement.

Can AMP help me get my high school diploma or GED?

Yes! AMP will connect you with a Coach who helps youth with tutoring, study skills and other academic supports so you can finish your diploma.

Does AMP help with the costs of vocational training programs, registration for school or tuition?

Yes! If you are interested in earning a certificate or credential we can help cover the costs of eligible training programs.

What kind of training programs does AMP support?

AMP helps young adults earn post-secondary certificate and industry recognized credentials in a variety of in-demand career fields.


How long in the program? 

That depends on you! You will work with your AMP Coach to set goals and make an individual plan. How long you participate depends on what services you enroll in and the support you need. You will meet with your AMP Coach at least once a month while you’re in AMP.


What do I get for participating? 

You get connected with an AMP Coach who is your personal advocate who will help you set and achieve your goals. Young adults can also earn financial incentives for completing many milestones like improving grades, completing high school diploma or GED, earning a certificate or credential and obtaining and maintaining employment.

When is the AMP Team available

AMP Team members are available Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
